Happy Birthday Jesus

Today at Collin's school they had a party celebrating Jesus' birthday.  It is so nice Collin learning a whole different meaning to Christmas.  We had a lot of fun.  The kids got pizza, candy and some small gifts.  Here are some pictures:

Tomorrow they are having a Christmas program and I am so excited to see it.

Nick is in Chicago til tomorrow night for work.  He will miss the program, but I will tape it so he can also see it.

Today while we were at the gym Collin tried out kids aerobics.  He said he like it so I think starting January he will go 3 times a week.  Should be good for him since he isn't in any sports right now and we don't get outside a whole lot.  This way he can still stay active.

Here are some pictures of the finished bathroom:

Our usual busy week

Another busy week.....  Christmas is almost here!!  And I have yet to do most of my Christmas shopping, AHHHH.  Yeah that's me getting a little stressed out.  But we do have a babysitter in a week so that we can get it all done.  Thank goodness.

Last Wednesday I brought the kids to visit Santa.  There was a Santa at Collin's school, but I was afraid he wouldn't be any good (ex. fake beard).  So I packed a big bag full of snacks, drinks, and plenty of things to do while we waited in line at the mall.  Well....  When I got to the mall there was no line!!!  Woo Hoo I was excited.  Well...  There was no line for a reason.  He was really old, the beard was real,  his teeth were nasty and he wasn't extremely friendly.  I didn't hear him say more than 3 words and he never said HO HO HO.  For the past 4 years we have seen the best of the best Santa at the Mall of America in MN and boy was I disappointed with the new one!!  I am going to miss our old Santa very much!!  Collin even asked me on the way home if that had been the Santa that we saw before.  I didn't even know how to answer him.  So hopefully next year we will find a better one or be in MN visiting while the GOOD Santa is in town.  Here are some of the pictures I took.

Addison didn't cry!!

This weekend the hall bathroom should be finished!!!  YAY Collin can now brush his teeth in his bathroom and there will be toothpaste all over that sink instead of ours :)  I will post pictures as soon as it is complete.

So I am totally addicted to this grocery saving website.  I absolutely love it.  So far I have gotten 4 boxes of dog treats, 4 carpet fresh sprays, 4 marinade mixes and 2 scrub brushes for FREE.  Yes I said free.  And I have also saved some money.  It is all about saving all your coupons and using them when items are on sale.  It is amazing how this lady puts it all together, but is works.  And hopefully soon I will cut my grocery bills in half.  Wouldn't that be nice.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Yay I did it :)

Addison

Heaven

Today early this morning Nick's uncle Peter died.  Peter had two young children, one being only a couple of months older then Addison.  Very sad.......

May he rest in piece and the family find closure.

Randomly Collin tells Nick today "Michael Jackson died"  Nick ask "How do you know that"  Collin says "The news told me".  It was cute and hilarious at the same time!!

Here are some pictures from the birthday party last Saturday, which Collin was the only boy from school to go.  He still had a lot of fun!!

Collin on the rope

All the kids from his class that were at the party.  The little girl in orange tried kissing Collin a couple times!!  I think someone has a crush......

Milestone

Tonight while playing on the floor with the kiddos Addison rolled over!!  She went from her back to her stomache.  I was so excited :)

Before bath time tonight Addison had her hands in her mouth, as she usually does, and choked herself a little and gagged.  Well her gag reflex is too good...  She threw up.  This has happened a couple of times now.  Hope it's nothing to be worried about.  Collin is almost 5 years old and has never thrown up, knock on wood he doesn't wake up sick tomorrow with the flew.  I guess we had to get lucky with one of them.

Tomorrow we are going to a birthday party for a little girl in Collin's class.  He is so excited, he says it's his girlfriend.  We have quite the ladies man on our hands.  We are in trouble as he gets older.

So I decided to start a blog.... I never really kept a journal as a child so we will see how far I get with this. I am doing this mostly for my family, whom I moved over 1,200 miles away from. I miss them dearly and would love for them to still be able to see more into my life and read things that the kids do each day.

So here we go...

Today:
It was a nice day outside, probably 60's and sunny. I love the weather here!! I will have to say when reading everyone's status updates about snow in MN today I was a little jealous. Collin and I have made a snowman every year and he has always loved it. I will miss that, just a little. I can absolutely do without the freezing temps and crappy drivers :)

Collin had school today and loved it like always. He still suprises me everyday when he comes home and talks about Jesus. Today he was telling me how Christmas is Jesus' birthday. I am so proud of him and hope to be able to continue religion in is life.

Addison is getting so big, I can not believe that I had her in June. She is a miracle and I love her more and more everyday. She is such a happy baby and I am blessed. She is so close to sitting on her own and rolling over it should be any day now :) She still loves her food (total opposite of Collin as a baby). Her sleeping has improved, but she still does wake up at night. I am just thankful it isn't every hour anymore.

We went to the gym today, which I love. Working out just makes me feel so good. Today I was on the treadmill for 30 minutes then the stair climber for 10 minutes and then to end it the eliptical for another 10 minutes. Hopefully this baby weight goes bye bye.
